Line-Up
Vocals - J̲ɄⱠɆᏕ / Julia Gramsamer
our front woman and powervoice joined the band in 2024 and ever since has a key position in shaping the bands new appearance, sound and style.
She finished her prof. stage and vocal training before joining RNL and her multifaceted vocal skillset bring a lot of inspiration and fresh air to the band.
Drums - Dirk Reschke
our "always to loud, e-drum set refuser" is one of the founding members and main songwriters of the band. He is rocking the drums since 1994 and was part of numerous bands before founding and building up RNL, starting in 2015. Since then, he is a main character of the bands line-up and style and makes our ears ring in rehearsals every time.
Guitar - Stefan Selonke
our "Zappelphilipp" of a guitarist is also one of the founding members and main songwriters of the band. He joined RNL as his first band, but was a main character in building up the band to what it represents today.
He is our 80s glamour music lover, and every stage we play is so small for him. He rather runs off and plays somewhere in the crowd with you.
Guitar - Matthias (Matze) / Iron Matt
our guitar string acrobat and solo specialist joined the band in 2018 and brings a lot of riff power and inspiration to the band. Aside from collecting guitars and doing all the technical stuff of the band, a lot is happening in his home studio, from demos to studio pre-recording. He is our classic hardrock lover and when you call him, you better shout out „Iron Matt“!
Bass Guitar - Andreas (Andy) Baumgart
our master of the bass joined the band in 2021 and ever since provides plenty of depth at RNL, at all levels.
He has been heavily influenced by crossover, rock, funk, metal and punk styles over the years, and played in multiple bands, such as Slutfreax and Worn out Faces, before joining RNL.
Biography
If you think about Rising Northlight, you certainly think about energetic shows, lots of guitar riffs and solos, loud drums, driving bass, strong vocals and a lot of fun at live shows. And of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal from Hamburg/Germany. Well, because that’s it what it is all about!
The band was founded in 2015 by drummer Dirk Reschke and guitarist Stefan Selonke, who are both still an important part of today’s band line-up. A lot changed over the years and since renting the rehearsal studio in Heimfeld/Hamburg in 2014. And eventually kicking off the band project one year after that.
Numerous musicians joined and left RNL over the years, leading to today’s band line-up.
Guitarist Matze (Iron Matt) joined the band in 2018, staring with playing bass guitar first, and toke over the e-guitar part in 2020.
The bass guitar was handed over to Andy Baumgart, who joined the band in 2021.
One year before that in 2020, the bands style took a big turn. The decision was made to change the vocal part to female fronted. After a first attempt with a female vocalist in the same year, Kasjana joined the band in 2021 and set off the bands style and appearance in a new direction.
With this band formation, the first studio records were produced and published, starting with the EP in 2022, and followed by the single “Endless universe” in 2023, and “Soulseeker” in 2024. Many new not yet recorded singles joined the existing show line-up and set off for many shows to be played over the years. Making the setlist a mix of old songs who still stand the test of time, and always new great songs. But to be said, the cover song times are long gone.
Big shows took place over the years, like a joined gig with “Ragnaröek” in September 2023, followed by a big show for the Airbus company in the same month. And of course, many other shows.
In 2024, Kasjana announced her parting of the band, and a new vocalist was searched, and found.
Jules - Julia Gramsamer joined the band directly after the parting with Kasjana in September 2024.
With the new line-up, again a lot is changing. Jules brings a lot of new energy and inspiration in the band, and sets of for a new style in vocals and the bands shows and appearance. The first steps are already made, studio recordings are in the making, shows are in booking and already planned for this and next year, and new songs are also already worked on.
